About This Salon
Down the street from Scotia's central shopping area, Shop Talk Salon offers head spa treatments in a full-service salon setting. The head spa service focuses on scalp restoration, incorporating exfoliation and massage to promote healthier hair. Feedback often highlights the salon's attention to detail during the two-hour sessions. The salon shares its space with wellness professionals, including an esthetician and a registered nurse offering personal training. This creates a quiet, health-focused atmosphere that extends beyond traditional salon services. The head spa treatment stands out as a specialized option among the salon's broader hair care menu, which ranges from cuts to Brazilian blowouts.

Booking Your Head Spa
Here are our tips to prepare for and fully enjoy your scalp treatment.
Book in Advance
Book 1 to 2 weeks in advance. Weekend slots sell out fast. And some scalp care specialists are in high demand, especially at reputable Japanese head spa salons.
Prepare for Your Visit
If you have concerns like itchy scalp, product buildup, or hair loss (alopecia), mention them when booking to customize your session.
Day of Your Session
Don't wash your hair the day of your appointment and arrive with brushed hair. Skip makeup as some treatments include a facial mask or kobido massage.
After Your Session
Enjoy a calm activity to extend the relaxing effects of your head massage. Note: blow-drying is usually not included. Allow extra time for long hair.
At-Home Care
Avoid washing your hair for 24-48 hours to let the treatment absorb. For a healthy scalp between sessions, ask your specialist which shampoo and hair care products to use at home.
Maintain Your Results
For lasting scalp health, consider regular treatments. Many clients book their next head spa before leaving to maintain their scalp care routine.
